Join our client in the search for an Experienced Mechanical Assembler/Skilled Assembler based in Yeovil.

Pay Rate: (compensation will be based on experience).

Full-time: Monday - Friday. Day and Late Swing Shift options available.

  • Day Shift: Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 12:00)

Day/Late Swing Shift:

  • Days - Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 13:00)
  • Lates - Monday to Thursday (15:30 to 00:00)

Prior experience and expertise in the aerospace industry is essential as you will be involved in various activities:

  • Producing products following engineering drawings and instructions
  • Mechanical fitting of ECS & LSS equipment
  • Operator Control of Quality (OCQ) - Stamping to ensure assembly quality meets company and Customer standards
  • Meeting delivery deadlines by completing work on time and meeting required standards
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, following process layouts, and documentation procedures
  • Operating effectively in a lean environment

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Assembly/Fitting Applications
  • High standards of Health & Safety
  • Compliance with Company Processes & Procedures
  • Experience in a Customer-focused environment and achieving set targets
  • Collaborating with Designers and Engineers
  • Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential)

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Aerospace practices and the importance of safety critical work undertaken (Manufacturing experience also considered)
  • Proficiency in PC operations
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions
  • Essential skills in maintaining Health & Safety standards, teamwork, flexibility, and initiative
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement
  • Further training will be provided: PC skills, Manual Handling, 5S, HOS Principles, and general Health & Safety

Mandatory Requirements: Full BPSS Screening (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including validation of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check - e.g. UK DBS, and Drugs Screening.

Successful candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK and pass all necessary background and security checks.
