Job Title: SEMH Support Worker in a Special Educational Needs Setting in Leicestershire

Empowering Learning is looking for a dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join a unique and impressive SEND school in Leicestershire. If you have experience working in a school environment and with SEND pupils, this opportunity is for you. Transitioning from a related sector with applicable skills will also be considered. The school offers an incredible work environment, especially if you have a passion for helping children with social, emotional, and mental health conditions.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Highly organised with top-notch communication skills
  • Desire to inspire and support children
  • Interest in assisting young people with various special educational needs
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Collaborative team player within the school community
  • Understanding of behavioural management

Job Description:

  • Assisting the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants in daily class operations
  • Supporting students during lessons and school activities
  • Supervising children during lunch and break times
  • Customizing learning experiences based on individual student needs
  • Conducting 1:1 or small group activities
  • Documenting student work to aid in assessments
  • Providing physical care and management for students

Support:

  • Assigned consultant to address your inquiries and issues
  • Assistance with CV writing
  • Exciting referral scheme for Teachers and Teaching Assistants
  • Opportunity to attend training workshops and CPD courses for professional growth
