An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic and growing team based in Washington. This role will suit somebody who is AAT qualified or actively studying.

Reporting to the Financial Controller your main duties will include:

  • Producing monthly reports figures and statistics using Microsoft office products.
  • Supporting the financial controller in production of the endtoend monthly management accounts.
  • Production of monthly accruals, prepayments and journals in support of the month end management accounts
  • Supporting of the month end and year end processing procedures
  • Daily posting of the bank statements and reconciliation of banks in line with cash management procedures
  • Liaise with third parties including banks, HMRC, auditors and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Management of the Purchase, Sales and Nominal Ledgers
  • Creation of weekly supplier payment runs through the bank
  • Support the company's credit control team in reducing exposure to risk through good credit control practices.
  • Responsibility for the weekly payroll submissions and creation of the payroll payments
  • Supporting the senior management team in the development and improvement of the current ERP system
  • Undertake any and all other duties as the business requires
