Covering our patch-based community teams across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, we are looking for experienced, inspiring and enthusiastic clinical leaders in Child Mental Health to lead a team of professionals within a specialist CAMHS team.

Ensuring the highest quality outcomes for young people and their families, you will be responsible for team professional standards as well as day to day team leadership, whilst playing a clinical role where required.


You must hold a registered professional qualification but may come from a number of professional backgrounds including but not inclusive to nursing, social work, allied health professionals or clinical psychology.


This is an exciting time to join our team as a Team Co-Ordinator; providing and developing quality specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services for young people as we build on our existing track record and develop our range of services in line with a regional transformation programme modelled on Thrive.

These roles are additional senior roles to support restructuring the clinical teams across the PCN footprints.

As a Band 7 Clinical Co-Ordinator, you will assume responsibility for a dedicated area of care and work as a clinical co-ordinator as well as a senior clinician carrying a clinical caseload.

The service works over7 days a week 8am-9pm in 2022 and 8am-10pm by 2023. Therefore shifts and weekend working are part of the working practice.

Main duties of the job


To direct and oversee the day to day delivery of clinical services provided by the Community Team which is inclusive of self-harm, ward based and community responses.


Ensuring that the Operational Leads are fully cognisant of significant day to day issues through effective and proactive agreed communication.

To contribute to the clinical management of the team's caseload of clients with complex needs, using CPA principles, evidence based/client centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions delivered both in our hospitals and in the community

The service currently operates across all Pennine Lancashire sites but is based at Burnley General Hospital.

The role involves travel between sites and in the community, so access to private transport for work purposes is essential.

The service offers placements for trainees in core Psychiatry and General Practice; higher specialty trainees in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry; and students from a wide range of disciplines including nursing and clinical psychology.

You will be expected to contribute to the overall training offered within the service and to outside agencies. There are good links with the Universities of Manchester, Liverpool and Central Lancashire.

  • Work as a clinical coordinator within the specialist CAMHS team
  • Work as a senior clinician within the team carrying a caseload of complex cases.
  • Act as a clinical and managerial supervisor within the team.
  • Ensure and participate in service provision from 8:00 22:00 seven days a
week (on a rota basis) to assess and provide assessment and therapeutic intervention for complex young people.

  • Coordinate and participate in the day to day running of a designated community team and provide support to clinical staff.
  • Provide services in a various community and hospital based environments.
  • Work across a variety of teams when required provide senior advice and
leadership across the ELCAS service when required.
