We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

Our Chelmsford Homelessness Supported Housing provide support for adults aged 18 to 65, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Our service comprises of 26 bedrooms in shared houses, spread across two locations in Chelmsford.


Our team of Project Workers work closely with our residents to understand their needs, create personalised plans and support them to achieve their ambitions and maximise their independence.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided to encourage our residents to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Assessing the needs of our residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Offering housingrelated support
  • Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • The ability to react effectively under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care willing to work towards,
