We're looking to recruit instructors for the 2023 season - If you're confident working at height and looking for a fun, flexible and rewarding role in the outdoors, this is the one for you

Job Purpose:


To deliver safe, fun and high-quality experience on our high ropes course to a wide range of clients of all ages.


Responsibilities of Appointment:

  • Putting safety first
  • Planning, preparation and delivery of highquality activities and/or training in line with Safety Management Procedures and Best Practice
  • Delivery of activities for which you hold the appropriate qualifications, or for which you have been inhouse assessed, and assisting alongside staff of a relevant level of qualification or experience
  • Promoting and enabling social development opportunities
  • Contribute towards the centre remaining budget focused
  • Be 'At Your Peak' delivering a high level of customer service
  • Support the delivery of staff training and inhouse activity sign off in line with best practice
  • Support product and business development activities
Maximising sales of centre specific products, merchandise, and tuck

Active maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure the ongoing safety of clients and staff

Contribute towards the development of physical resources (buildings, land, and equipment as appropriate)


Any other reasonable duties commensurate with your role and level of remuneration, which may from time to time be required by the business.


  • Experience in proficiently delivering outdoor activities
  • A passion for delivering outdoor adventure and education
  • High level of customer service
  • Flexible approach to working hours and able to work away if required

Desirables:

  • National governing body awards, eg Archery GB, RYA Safety Boat, ERCA, DofE Assessor, RPIOL or APIOL or equivalent
  • Personal supporting knowledge of a broad range of outdoor and adventurous activities
  • Outdoor First Aid Qualification
  • Continuing personal participation in outdoor and adventurous activities
  • Experience of youth work or working with emotional, learning and behavioural difficulties
  • Proven ability to manage challenging situations and leadership and influencing skills
  • Full UK driving licence with D1 or +E entitlement
Pay & Remuneration

NLW at the prevailing rate plus increments dependent on qualifications and experience.

Working Hours
Due to the variation of our activities and changing customer requirements our working day is of a flexible nature. Working days are normally approximately 8 hours and may include weekend and bank holiday working.

However, it is reasonable to expect a seasonal variation in working hours, eg, longer days in the summer months, shorter days in winter months.


Zero hours:

You will not be guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work each week, the Company is not obliged to provide you with any work and therefore in a particular week you may receive no work at all from the Company.

However, the Company will offer available hours in writing and you must accept in writing to secure the arrangement.


Where you are offered work, you are not obliged to accept the hours offered if you do not wish to do so, and you will not be penalised if, for whatever reason, you do not accept hours on a particular occasion.

However, where you accept an assignment, the Company will expect you to complete the assignment as agreed.
