Provide accurate reports for Plain film, within their level of competency

To co-ordinate and assist in the management of the professional and technical service of Plain film imaging in the Diagnostic and Therapies Division. To provide an effective and high quality service within resource allocation, providing a professional safe service to the patients, ensuring a patient centred approach. Vetting of requests to ensure they are appropriate and justified and protocol them accordingly. Ensuring staff are professional and maintain their competencies. o exercise a high level of personal expertise in Plain film imaging, have an in-depth knowledge of the equipment and to be able to apply this knowledge to produce high quality images with comparatively low radiation doses (ALARA principal). To contribute to the delivery of the Radiology service at both operational and strategic levels as required. To assist in the responsibility for the standards of care provided within Plain film. In collaboration with the Radiography section Head and Principal Radiographer for plain film Reporting, ensure resources are monitored and tailored to meet the needs of the service within the constraints of a financial budget. To promote education and training across the whole of radiology.
