Empowering Learning is currently seeking a Student Support Mentor for a specialized and remarkable SEND Setting located in Rural Leicestershire. Previous experience in a school setting and with SEND students is advantageous. Experience in a related field with adaptable skills will also be taken into consideration. Required Experience:

  • Previous experience working with youth
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional communication abilities
  • Passion for working with, motivating, and assisting children
  • Interest in supporting young individuals with various SEND
  • Background in aiding children with extra needs (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Collaborative member of the school team engaging in the broader school community
  • Understanding of behavior management

Job Description:

  • Assisting the class teacher and other teaching assistants in daily class operations
  • Supporting students during lessons and school activities
  • Assisting staff/students during lunch and break times
  • Customizing student learning based on individual requirements
  • Conducting 1:1 or small group sessions
  • Documenting children's work progress for assessments
  • Providing physical care and management of students

Support:

  • Assigned consultant available to address any inquiries or concerns
  • Assistance with CV writing
  • Exciting Referral scheme offering £150 for Teachers and Teaching Assistants
  • Access to workshops and CPD courses for professional growth
