About Our Client:

My client is part of the Public Sector which supports the community in the West Midlands of England.

The key responsibilities of a Purchasing Officer will include, but may not be limited to;

  • To maintain an organisational preferred supplier listing
  • Ensure appropriate vetting arrangements are in place
  • Oversee activity volumes with suppliers and build effective supplier relationships
  • To ensure appropriate terms and conditions are in place
  • To promote the use of catalogues and purchase orders
  • To review all none purchase order activity
  • Have oversight of the scheme delegation
  • Provide appropriate purchasing management information to managers to support decision making
  • Actively work with Commercial Business Partners and Finance Business Partners, by providing relevant purchasing information
  • Ability to coach and develop the Purchasing Assistant

The Successful Applicant:

  • Background working in Public Sector and Government
  • Relevant understanding of supply chain management and purchase ordering system
  • Ability to build working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To work as a team and independently
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
  • To be enthusiastic and action oriented
