Your team:


As our Head of Planning, you will report into the Planning Director but will work closely with the Cactus workstream leads, TMO and the programme managers across Project Cactus.

This role will primarily be responsible for supporting the Planning Director in ensuring that the Project Cactus plan is defined and implemented in as effective way as possible.


This is an outstanding opportunity to be involved at the beginning of a major transformation programme that is pivotal to helping the businesses continued and future success.


What you'll do:

  • Support the Planning Director in the development, tracking and organisation of the Programme.
  • Provide support to workstream leads and challenge when required
- on critical deliverables.

  • Escalate issues early to ensure swift resolution and share / celebrate programme achievements.
  • Act as a catalyst for effective alignment between groups: help expose needs, interdependencies, limitations and constraints as well as addressing any silod approaches.
  • Ensure all workstreams within the programme are effectively represented in the plans, e.g. product, technology, commercial and people.
  • Ensure all actions are detailed and delivered, with stakeholders at all levels.

How you'll do it:

  • As part of the Planning team, you'll work with all areas of the programme to support with the development of the plan. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams are vital.
  • You will be experienced in leading a matrix team of people to work towards a common goal, providing challenge and inspiring each other along the way to help the teams to build plans in line with the programme objectives.
  • A skilled relationship manager, you'll build strong, sustainable business relationships across the programme. You will support the Planning Director along with Cactus workstream leads / senior management in building programme plans.
  • You'll need to be adaptable and inclusive, not only supporting your own team but working at a senior level across the organisation to make sure that great plans turn into seamless delivery.
  • Experience of project management processes and demonstrates strong organisation and influencing skills, also demonstrating commercial awareness.
  • Leads crossfunctional teams to ensure planning milestones are completed on time and to agreed standards across the programme.
