What will you be doing?

Working within engineering innovation at Thames Water, this role will lead the engagement, coordination and management of technical working groups and innovation engagement for the engineering function.

The individual will bring together innovation leads across Thames Water to enable forums for technical decisions and facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and information (including specialists and non-specialist).


The Innovation Technical Coordinator is key to the management of the technical heartbeat of Thames Water and will play a central role in external innovation engagements across the water sector to place Thames Water as an industry leader for technical excellence and innovation.


Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage communications throughout Thames Water Innovation champions
  • Support the Innovation engagement team
  • Coordinate and manage Thames Water technical practice groups and forums
  • Support and enable the innovation process across Thames Water
  • Coordinate and where required, drive external technical engagements
  • Support wider technical improvement activities across innovation as required
  • Enable and support the collaboration of ideas and communications across Thames Water divisions and departments
  • Working closely with the Innovation engagement lead to promote and communicate Thames Water innovation both internally and externally
    We're looking for you to
  • Ideally hold a STEM degree or equivalent qualification
  • Have previous experience in innovation
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to quickly and effectively form networks and relationships across a wide stakeholder community, both internally and externally
  • Ability to lead and influence teams and take a collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills and be able to converse with technical specialists and nontechnical stakeholders alike
