About The Role

Nexperia aims to achieve a $10 billion turnover by 2030. This goal relies on next-generation technologies, sustainable manufacturing practices, modern facilities, and above all, investing in its workforce. We are currently seeking a Principal GaN Reliability Engineer to join our team.

What our Principal GaN Reliability Engineers do
- Work within the broader GaN team under the supervision of the Principal Engineer.
- Play a key role in ensuring the reliability and durability of GaN products through testing, failure analysis, design optimization, and providing valuable insights for technology enhancement.
- Have the flexibility to work from Manchester, Hamburg, or Munich, under our Flexible Working Policy.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the reliability test plan for E-mode GaN products and calculate lifetime estimations.
  • Supervise internal reliability tests in the labs and partner with external entities for additional tests.
  • Analyze data from reliability tests to derive acceleration parameters.
  • Identify and rectify reliability gaps, driving improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams and labs to enhance testing and analysis methods.
  • Track failure analysis investigations to comprehend main wear-out failure mechanisms.

Requirements
Essential
  • Masters degree in Physics, Electronic Engineering, or similar field.
  • In-depth knowledge of GaN semiconductor physics.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and thermal failure modes in semiconductor products, along with failure analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality standards like JEDEC and AEC-Q101, reliability testing methods, and equipment.
  • Strong data analysis skills using tools like JMP, MATLAB, and Minitab, with effective communication abilities.
Beneficial
