About the Role:

This position will be leading the strategic direction for the Council's City Development & Regeneration function, involving culture and events that impact the city's economic and social landscape.

The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the city's economic growth aligns with the Council's priorities in terms of job opportunities, skills development, and enhancing the quality of living spaces.

Responsibilities also include ensuring the Council's adherence to statutory mandates and scrutiny processes related to the services under this function.

Reporting to the Director – City Regeneration & Environment, the Chief Officer - City Development & Regeneration will be an essential part of the Corporate Management Team, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders such as elected officials, trade unions, and employees.

Important external stakeholders will include Community Planning partners, Cultural networks, industry bodies like Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise, UK government entities, and Moody's.

Success in this role hinges on collaboration with other Chief Officers within the organization, such as Strategic Place Planning, Finance, Corporate Landlord, Commercial and Procurement Services, and Capital.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification(s) / Certificates / Memberships etc. required

Interested candidates should possess a relevant degree or professional qualifications, along with extensive experience related to the role.

Evidence of continuous professional development is also required.

Responsibilities
