Ollie Polly Play Cafe is a small but growing business in West Wickham, Greater London. We are a small team and expect the very best from our staff. In return you can expect a fair, supportive and enjoyable working environment.

Our goal is to make parenting life easier; the cafe provides a safe, non-judgemental space for families, as well as a little bit of breathing space for parents with young children.

As a result our team members have a varied and busy role that can also be fun and very rewarding but also a challenge at times.

Please note this is not a childcare or playworker role, our staff need to be good with, and comfortable around little people but are not required to play with them.

Ideal for Parents looking to work around school runs. We need someone who is reliable and available to work the following shifts

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9.15am to 2.15pm

Duties

• Welcomes customers when they arrive at the cafe, explaining the "house rules" and answering any questions
• Introduces customers to the menu and any specials
• Answers questions about menu items, allergies, ingredients and pricing
• Takes customers' orders for food and drinks & passing along to kitchen for preparation
• Prepares drinks and / or cake orders and serves them to customers
• Collects food orders from the kitchen, verifies that they are correct, and serves them to customers
• Ensures that customers are satisfied with their meals and process orders for additional items if necessary
• Remove used dishes and glasses from tables to the kitchen sink / dishwasher
• Prepares bills and deliver to customers in good time for the session end
• Processes cash and card payments
• Wipe down tables, and toys between sessions and restocks tables and bathrooms
• Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
• Working as part of a team, assisting the management with any reasonable requests in a polite and timely manner.
• Meets with management and team members regularly in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss business development

Skills and Qualifications

Reliable, professional attitude, attention to detail, Good timekeeping, Ability to multitask, Written & verbal communication essential, Excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal skills, Ability to communicate across various levels in an appropriate manner, Proven team player, Ability to work under pressure & maintain energy levels, Positive can do attitude, Familiarity with Food Hygiene standards (online training and qualifications will be provided)
