An excellent opportunity for a permanent, full time Production Assistant/Editor to be part of a small, successful, independent team at one of the worlds most distinguished publishing houses.

Based in the city centre, you will enjoy working with a degreeof autonomy while still receiving the required training, tools and support needed from experienced colleagues.


As a calm, personable individual who is passionate about publishing you will manage the production of new books from manuscript to print and eBook editions.

This role can either be hybrid or office based.

Key Duties

  • Maintaining production schedules and databases
  • Build effective working relationships and communicate clearly with authors, freelancers (editors/proofreaders/designers etc.) and suppliers
  • Calculate book costings
  • Assist with stock management
  • Process invoices
  • Be highly organised and able to prioritise a large workload
  • Deadline focussed
  • Have a meticulous eye for detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Remain calm under pressure
Experience of book production and database management would be advantageous.
