What it's like to work here:This vacancy is included in a trial of the 'Disability Confident' scheme (level 1).
You'll be part of a small staff team based at the Roundhouse.

The building is open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, with tenant offices operating Monday-Friday and room bookings/events available seven days a week.

There are multiple Duty Managers within the staff team who provide Monday-Sunday support to tenants, office workers, volunteers, visitors and events.


All members of the team are required to work some evening and weekends to cover Duty Management responsibilities or to deliver/support events and room bookings.

Roundhouse Birmingham is an independent charity created through a partnership between Canal & River Trust and National Trust. We offer a range of guided city and canal tours alongside lettable spaces and room hires.

What you'll be doing:

You'll be instrumental in promoting and growing the presence and reputation of the Roundhouse meetings/events offer, delivering bookings to a high standard, and building relationships to ensure repeat bookings.


You'll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors and hirers, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property are clear and consistent.

As a champion of exceptional visitor experiences, you'll join a high performing team and will regularly be involved in the duty management rota helping run the visitor operation.

  • Highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident in setting priorities and meeting deadlines, with high standards of efficient event delivery
  • A great team player with a willingness to share your knowledge, possessing a high level of selfmotivation and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Someone with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Someone with strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle changing requirements and solve problems
  • Some knowledge and experience of managing budgets and resources, familiarity with health and safety procedures and experience of identifying risks, and knowledge of different access requirements
  • Excellent digital skills, knowledge and experience of working with different social media platforms, and the ability to learn and understand new systems
  • Friendly and approachable, bringing enthusiasm and positivity to the role, with a willingness to contribute and support the team and the needs of the organisation
