Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) a global developer and operator, is currently seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic Finance team as the Head of Asset Finance.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to take on a crucial responsibility for the delivery of operational reporting, forecasts, and analysis for URW's operational assets within the UK.


Working closely with the CFO, UK, you will form part of the UK Finance Senior Leadership team alongside your peers who manage their respective functions within the wider UK Finance team.

What you will be doing

Reporting & budgeting:

  • Supervise the compilation of financial data regarding the performance of various operational assets, such as Shopping Centres, Residential and Commercial Partnerships businesses. Additionally, monitor the financial aspects of Residential and Development Assets & external Joint Venture (JV) partners for all operational assets, which includes income share calculations, debtors, profit/loss reporting, and distributions calculations.
  • Manage monthend and quarterend closing procedures for operational assets, including accruals, lease incentives, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the delivery of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for various income and expenditure categories, such as service charges, insurance, marketing, and operational expenses.
  • Supervise the preparation of statutory financial statements, tax packs, VAT, and CIS returns for relevant legal entities, and engage with other finance departments as needed.
  • Manage Service Charge and Insurance processes and collaborate with thirdparty property finance teams for nonURWrun assets to ensure accurate information delivery for internal and external reporting.

Audit:

  • Coordinate engagement with external auditors for local UK statutory, group, and service charge audits, working with the consolidation and accounting team to plan, communicate, and resolve audit risks.
  • Ensure accounting documentation and supporting policies are up to date and manage continuous improvement initiatives for financial processes and controls, including SAP ERP implementation.

Team Management:

  • Manage the UK Asset Finance team, providing mentoring and support through regular coaching and feedback to drive team development and performance. Oversee and continuously improve departmental processes for maximum efficiency.
What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

  • Proven leadership skills in successfully leading, motivating, and developing teams to achieve desired development outcomes.
  • Qualified accountant with significant postqualification experience in similar roles.
  • Strong commercial acumen, expertise in general accounting and reporting principles, and the ability to build relationships with operational stakeholders.
  • The ability to simplify complex financial issues and execute effective solutions.
