The Project:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade/expansion of their existing petrochemical facilities in India.

The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India.

The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel's India offices.

Each PMC Area Engineering Manager will lead the deployed engineering team in one of the EPC contractor's offices as they develop their ISBL design.

You will be responsible for managing, planning, and coordination of one of the ISBL deployed PMC engineering teams and have technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the teams' work.

You will report into the PMC Project Engineering Manager who will lead the Core engineering team in the Client's offices.

# Make recommendations from engineering team members to Core team for Owner approval.
# Work closely with all the engineers and other deployed functions (Project Controls and Supply Chain). Manages inputs of project progress and status, including communication of assigned activities of both the PMC team and the EPC Contractors.
# Develop and review engineering staffing plans for their deployed PMC team.
# Manage and drive learning and development of the PMC engineering staff.
# Participate in project planning to provide technical guidance in engineering reviews.
# Input to and review project schedules and approve staffing manning level for engineering personnel.
# Keep informed on the status of the project involving assigned personnel with respect to schedule, budget, work quality, and Owner satisfaction and contribute leadership, experience, and expertise in the solution of any problems encountered.
# Promote best practices among teams across all departments without creating silos, drive and develop training for process, tool, automation, and continuous improvement.
# Coordinate with other leaders within the project organization to ensure that multi-discipline interfaces are properly addressed with resolution of technical issues in a timely manner.
# Coordinate EPC Contractor document reviews and ensure contract requirements are met.
# Ensure that changes are not directed to Contractors outside of the change management process set forth in Contracts Management Procedure.
# Liaise with the PMT engineering team in the Core team, based in the Client's offices.

A recognized bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and experience in EPC and/or operating industry, and ideally previous PMC experience.

Chartered Engineer) in an engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board (or international equivalent) is preferred. Excellent knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, good engineering practices, and how to apply them for design execution.

Experience with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes, particularly those applicable to projects in India.

If you are successful Bechtel will organize your relocation and logistics (Indian visas, travel, and provision of accommodation in Mumbai).



If you are open to relocation:

  • We will provide accommodation for you whilst you are in the country (single or accompanied by spouse).

This means that you would mobilize and spend 10 weeks working in the country and then you would go home to the UK for 2 weeks and so on for the project duration.
