Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.

They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.

It is a requirement of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust that all HCSWs adhere to the Code of Conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.


As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for Working under delegation and alongside a Registered Nurse in delivering a high standard of care to our patients in order to individualise care needs, utilising flexible, innovate and effective practice that demonstrates that our patients are at the centre of everything we do.

In this role you will be expected to help patients to meet their basic needs, ensuring the environment is clean and safe, and supporting the wider team.

You will be required to manage your workload and escalate any concerns to your designated Nurse. You may also progress and learn extended roles, and learn about other progression routes available.
