_We are delighted to be working with our client based on the outskirts of Portsmouth. With over 20 years in the technology sector, our client prides itself on being one of the largest in its field and due to continued growth, and the launch of a newfinance division, are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team on a part time basis_
**Team Purpose

The Finance team are responsible for the preparation, maintenance, management and reporting of all areas of the financial performance of the business.

**Your Assistant Financial Accountant Role: Your principal role will be to support the Finance Manager in the preparation and reconciliation of the financial records of our multi-currency, multi entity business in a timely and accurate manner. The success of this role and the Finance team will bereflected in the meeting of business and departmental KPI's and reporting deadlines.


The Finance function is business critical and this role profile is open to review at regular intervals to ensure it stays aligned with the business strategy and on-going goals.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the Accounts Payable Mailbox(es) and respond/action any supplier queries as appropriate in a timely manner.
  • Detailed reconciliation of certain supplier invoices against billing records to confirm the accuracy of supplier invoicing, and the completeness of our billing to customers.
  • Validate employee expense claims in line with company policy and prepare the payment of expenses to employees.
  • To maintain the bank accounts within AIQ Financials to support the financial control posture of the business. This includes posting cash transactions and reconciling the accounts.
  • To perform administration of the business charge cards, supplier reviews, supplier statement reconciliations and payments to support the financial control posture of the business.
  • Adhere to targets and KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and in doing so contribute to the Finance team's overall performance.
  • Conform to ISO processes and best practice methodologies that are identified, ensuring compliance and where necessary making improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of department processes, in order to deliver consistent customer service. Specifically,this role is responsible for ensuring conformance with our Purchase Order process.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all relevant financial paperwork and records. Identifying any issues, and where needed ensuring a full audit trail is available and all has been appropriately authorised in line with ISO accreditationsand business responsibilities.
  • To reconcile key control accounts within the trial balance as directed by the Finance Director and/or Finance Manager such as sales ledger, purchase ledger and fixed assets to support the Financial control posture of the business.
  • To provide the business with high quality, relevant, timely reporting and data to allow and to support the management's decision making.
  • To undertake ad hoc tasks or other duties as required for the role.
This is a part-time position based at our head office in Fareham though flexible working can be considered. This role comprises 25 working hours per week.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English, minimum grade C or level 5 (or equivalent)
  • Proficient organisational and time management skills combined with a high level of attention to detail, due to the complexity of the multientity/multicurrency nature of our business and the potential for loss due to errors
  • Confidence in working in a rapidly changing business environment.

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Partqualified in a recognised accounting qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA etc. or qualified by experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing

  • Competitive Salary of £15,000
  • £17,000 per annum depending on experience:
  • Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays per annum. Rising by 1 day per year per each complete calendar year up to 25 days. Plus we operate a scheme whereby additional holiday can be purchased via uChooz up to a total of 30 days
