Education Centre Co-ordinator: Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen with our Practice Development and Education Team to manage our Education Centre which opened in April 2023 at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This role is part of the Business team who support the management and delivery of extensive range of in-house and external training and education programmes for a wide range of staff working across all our hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will;

The post holder will manage the efficient and smooth running of the Education Centre and provide vital support to the PD&E team and wider Trust in opening, developing and managing the centre. The post holder will manage the activities and procedures to ensure a high-quality service for events held within the EducationCentre.

Advanced programme management skills are required to support the team to deliver a wide range of learning & development initiatives and programmes and to ensure they are delivered effectively across multiple settings and contexts. The centre will provide a learning environment for staff and external candidates that is open, welcome and engaging for all.

The post holder will be required to effectively manage their own workload, prioritising multiple projects and tasks appropriately to meet the needs of the Trust, the department and associated deadlines.

Job responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility include:

Centre Management responsibilities:

Provide a pivotal point of contact in the Training Centre for Trust staff, course facilitators, and external customers. Manage and resolve any unexpected issues as they arise.

Oversee booking system and scheduling of the Centre ensuring efficient use of space and facilities in line with departmental priorities.

Ensure systems and processes are in place to provide an efficient service to the organisation.

Manage activities which support organisational development including: conferences, workshops and training events. Organise availability of training equipment or clinical equipment if required to ensure smooth running of events.

Financial responsibilities:

Prudent use of the Training Centre budget and expenditure.

Identify cost improvement schemes within the department for which the post holder has involvement.

Purchase physical assets and supplies for the Centre. Comply with supply chain procedures and policies.

Raise purchase orders and receipt goods received.

Line Management responsibility:

Line manage Training Centre Receptionist/Administrator.

Provide relevant training for new members of the team as appropriate.

Support the recruitment of administration staff.

Education training qualifications

Essential

English and Maths GCSE or equivalent, such as Functional Skills Educated to degree level IT Qualifications/ECDL, MSOffice, Access, Management of Data bases, RSA111 or equivalent. Management / Business & Administration qualification

Project management qualification or equivalent experience
