Job Summary

Two days a week 9.30/10am start till 4pm ( days to be discuss)

Are you a social and caring person who enjoys keeping active and would like to learn new skills?
The role - supporting a young male in his twenties, He requires the use of a wheelchair-walker (rollator).


Alongside support to enable him to carry out everyday tasks whilst supporting and increasing his independence whilst encouraging his ongoing rehabilitation.


Essential


A full driving license is essential as you will be required to drive an accessible van and must be over 25.

Interest and skills

  • Interest in keeping active & physical activity, knowledge of gym equipment, yoga, pilates, or other activities with an interest to learn.
  • Confident in the water attending/supporting hydro waterbased sessions such as swimming, aqua aerobics etc.
  • Supporting specialist physical therapy sessions & completing home exercise programs,
  • Assistance to attend social and support groups.
  • Support to attend appointments such as dentists, medical appointments, hairdressers & leisure activities, shopping, cinema, social outings, etc.
  • General supervision to ensure safety and reduce risk of falls.
  • Assistance with computers, typing, and other forms of technology.
  • Personal care, no handson care required.
  • Preparation of meals, lunch, snacks & shakes and light House work.
  • Companionship, effective communication, social skills, good listening skills, and respect for confidentiality.

Full training is provided.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Criteria

  • Experience within a relevant sector, transferable skills such as caring, support work, physical education, or other relevant/transferable skills.
  • A willingness to learn and complete training.
  • Reliable, Punctual, Good Communication Skills and respect for Confidentiality
  • Must hold a driving license & be comfortable driving a wheelchairaccessible van and be comfortable driving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with client
- and family.
