Job Description Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that the specified scope (package / material) is completely delivered at the required location, safely, at the right time, in good condition and within the allocated budget.

  • Heavy lifts & oversized loads
  • Industrial packing
  • Import/export procedures

Key missions:

  • Collate all relevant data to issue Request for Quotations (RFQ) to Transport Service Providers.
  • Issuing RFQ to Transport Service Providers using the GE templates and following the GE sourcing rules.
  • Review offers, send clarification requests to the service providers & negotiate prices.
  • Ensure all quotations are complete, compliant and received in due time.
  • Present price comparison tables and technical analysis. Highlight the logistics contingencies, risk and opportunities with the associated mitigation plan.
  • Manage the delivery of equipment up to the place of destination within the timescale defined by the Project team.
  • Ensure that all shipping documents are properly issued and released in due course to stakeholders so that the expected delivery date and payment date are met.
  • Ensure that all the international trade regulations & GE rules are fully respected before shipping
  • Ensure that Service Providers are duly informed about EHS rules and implement them.
  • Ensure that the method statement for sensitive operations is issued in due time by the Service Provider and that operations are carried out accordingly.
  • Deal with service providers in relation to nonconformances.
  • Follow all logistics procedures, processes & use logistics tools.

Performance Measurement:

  • Ontime delivery of specified shipment as per project needs.
  • Ontime release of shipping documents
  • Savings and budget compliance
  • Adherence to the global processes and IT Tools for transport sourcing and execution,
  • Works as per GE's the spirit & the letter Integration EHS for your complete scope
  • Objectives, Targets and Performance Measurements are defined on a yearly basis.

Desired Profile & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Logistics / Additional relevant experience is required
  • Good Knowledge of Turnkey Project Logistics
  • Good knowledge of special transports (out of gauge and/or heavy)
  • Proven knowledge of International Trade rules (Incoterms, Customs, Letter of Credit )
  • Good knowledge of Grid Solutions Projects and equipment
  • Languages: fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Decision making, problem solving, ability to independently resolve issues with difficult suppliers.
  • Knowledge in scheduling/planning of large and complex projects.
  • Behave according to GE Code of Ethics and Values.
