We are seeking 2innovative and enthusiastic full time/part-time (minimum 30 hours per week)Trainee Nursing Associates to join our friendly team in TABA+ Primary CareNetwork (PCN).

The successfulapplicants would preferably have some experience in a health care setting butwe also welcome interested newcomers to this field of work.

Nursing Associatesbridge the gap between Healthcare support workers and registered nurses andthe programme leads to registration as a Nursing Associate with the NMC.

This is adevelopmental role and the trainee will work towards progression into the postof Nursing Associate through successful completion of the Nursing Associatetraining programme, which includes the attainment of a two-year level 5Foundation Degree equivalent qualification. To undertake this qualification youshould have as a minimum:

GCSE Maths and English at grade 9-4 (A-C) or

Functional skillsLevel 2 in Maths and English

The post is basedin TABA+ Primary Care Network and will involve working across 1 or 2 practiceswith day release to attend the university programme.

The expectation is that the post holder will be available to work and to study for the two years of the course and a minimum of one year after completing studies.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 9 July 2024.

Main duties of the job

This is a clinicalrole working under the supervision of a Practice Nurse and strictly inaccordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols. The Trainee NursingAssociate will assist and support the practice clinical team in the provisionand delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Working inaccordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and practice agreed protocols andguidance, the post-holder will provide assessment, treatment, screening, healtheducation services and advice to patients.

Key roleresponsibilities:

During the two-yearnursing associate course, the trainee nurse associate will learn to:

work as part of the PCNs MDT to provide and monitor care, under director indirect supervision.

improve safety and quality of care at every opportunity.

contribute to the delivery of integrated care.

work with the PCN MDT to ensure delivery of nursing associate dutiescomplement existing workforce.

be supported by nursing associates, and practice nurses.

support registered nurses to enable them to be able to focus on the morecomplex clinical care.

develop relationships across the MDT to support integration of the roleacross health and social care including primary care, secondary care, andmental health.

perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure,temperature, respirations, and pulse.

after undertaking additional training, provide flu vaccinations, ECGs,and venepuncture. and other relevant clinical tasks as required by the PCN, inline with the competencies of the role.

promote health and well-being to all patients, for example undertakingthe NHS health check.

review patients with long-term conditions and frailty

care for individuals with dementia, mental health conditions, andlearning disabilities.

advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management whereappropriate, including signposting patients to personalised care colleagues andlocal community and voluntary sector services.

communicate proactively and effectively with all MDT colleagues acrossthe PCN, attending and contributing to meetings as required.

maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient health records; and

enhance own performance through continuous professional development,imparting own knowledge and behaviours to meet the needs of the service.
