This is an exciting time to join our team as Programme Manager for the NHS Confederations high profile and influential Health and Care Women Leaders Network.

Main duties of the job

This Programme Manager role contains two main elements:

  • Programme support and delivery of agreed plans for the Health and Care Women Leaders Network
  • Programme support and delivery across the wider Partnerships and Equality team

Job responsibilities

As the Programme Manager you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of a range of programmes and projects across the Networks portfolio.
  • Ensure project plans have clear outcomes and deliverables.
  • Monitor and keep plans to agreed timescales and budget.
  • Assist the Chair and the Guiding Group to turn strategic objectives into practical actions and delivery plans.
  • Prepare and present written materials such as reports, briefings, and other information relevant to the Networks aims and objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the work programme.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the wider Partnerships and Equality work plan as appropriate.

About you

You will be motivated by addressing inequality in the NHS and the services it delivers and be able to manage complex relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders in an inclusive and engaging style.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • demonstrable programme management skills.
  • experience of translating Policy into practical deliverables within the NHS.
  • demonstrable analysis, writing and verbal skills, with an ability to communicate complex ideas to different audiences.
Person Specification Experience
  • Excellent analysis skills that cut through complexity and provide insight, with the ability to write accessible and compelling narratives informed by member/stakeholder views, evidence and best practice.
  • Proven programme management expertise and experience of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Experience of producing written briefings and reports and delivering presentations to internal and external audiences. Ability to tailor the content and delivery to the needs of the audience.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of applying evidence-based initiatives to tackle inequality in healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including being personally credible and influential with senior leaders and stakeholders. Developing and delivering insightful thought leadership and managing complex relationships at a senior level.
  • Experience of representing an organisation to outside bodies.
  • Able to use initiative, prioritise and work with minimum supervision. Flexible and agile in a rapidly changing environment. Able to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines at the same time.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience of working in and with senior teams in an inclusive collaborative manner.
