Timeplan Education is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Residential Support Worker at our unique residential school located in the picturesque Thanet district of Kent.
The school is recognised nationally for its innovative approaches in Communication and Behaviour Management, catering to children between the ages of 5 and 19 with autism and severe learning difficulties.
Job Type:
Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 10pm (afternoon/evening). Optional overtime available for mornings or weekends.
Role Overview:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support to the residential home where our young residents stay during out-of-school hours.
Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate their learning and personal development within the home environment while advocating for their needs across various aspects of their lives including schooling, healthcare, relationships, and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing support to all young residents within the residential home.
- Assisting in their learning and personal development.
- Advocating for their needs in various areas of life.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the wellbeing of residents.
- Maturity and warmth in dealing with vulnerable children.
- Creativity and openness to learning.
- Patience and a caring attitude.
- Ability to handle challenging behaviours sensitively.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to get one.
