**Supporting the medical humanitarian projects are teams in 44 countries, including the UK and Ireland, involved in staff recruitment, fundraising, crisis awareness initiatives, and support activities.


**At MSF UK/IE, responsibilities include fostering relationships with supporters, raising awareness about MSF's mission, fundraising, offering specialized medical expertise, facilitating access to educational programs, advocating for change on medical humanitarian matters, recruiting field personnel, and expanding recognition and respect for MSF within the Irish humanitarian sector.


**As the Director of Manson Unit (MU) and Deputy Medical Director, the role entails providing leadership, medical guidance, and humanitarian health programming experience for the benefit of the communities served by MSF UK/IE and its partners.


  • Optimizing the MU's role as a center for medical and research networks, enhancing technical support within the MSF movement, fostering a positive work culture, and building collaborative partnerships internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with MSF UK's senior leadership as a member of the Committee of Directors (CoDir) to drive organizational strategy.
  • Participating in OCA's strategic planning and medical strategies alongside the Medical Director to enhance medical services for patients.

Requirements:


  • Full-time position (37 hours per week, permanent).
  • Hybrid work model (three days remote, minimum two days in the office per week).
  • Extensive leadership and management experience in medical programs within a humanitarian context similar to MSF.
  • Alignment with MSF's values and a deep understanding and dedication to humanitarian causes.
  • Proven track record in medical research and program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability in team leadership and management.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in languages like French and/or Arabic is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to MSF offices and operational countries for extended periods.
  • Experience with IT tools, including Microsoft Office 365, and effective collaboration in a hybrid work environment using Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, and Yammer.
