About the Company:

Join a rapidly expanding housebuilder in the South West as a Construction Director, overseeing sites across Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset.

Salary: £100k - £110k (depending on experience) + Bonus and Package

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in Construction Management or as a Construction Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategic construction plans aligned with company objectives and growth targets.
    • Ensure exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards are maintained.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee multiple construction developments simultaneously, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
    • Monitor and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.
    • Implement project management methodologies to optimize efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide strong leadership to the construction management team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
    • Recruit, develop, and mentor team members, focusing on talent development.
  • Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities and local government agencies as necessary.
  • Cost Management:
    • Develop and manage construction budgets, implementing cost control measures.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain the company's high-quality standards.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders.
    • Ensure successful delivery of strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry trends and drive innovation in construction processes.
    • Champion continuous improvement in construction methodologies and techniques.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven leadership in construction management within residential development.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and financial analysis experience.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and Microsoft Office.
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the operational area.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Membership in professional organizations is advantageous.
