Executive Assistant to Director(s)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join a team of Executive Assistants to provide comprehensive administrative support.


This is a busy, demanding, yet rewarding role and the post holder will need to have a flexible approach to work, to be able to use their own initiative as well as work effectively as part of the larger team.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • To work autonomously in the absence of the Executive
  • Use own initiative to plan time effectively and prioritise all incoming work on a daily basis, including responding quickly, appropriately and communicating clearly in relation to urgent / important and unpredictable issues ensuring a high-quality administrative
  • Maintain effective communication networks at all levels across the organisation and to facilitate the effective function of the Executive
  • Identify, draft, and type all routine and ad hoc correspondence and reports, on behalf of the Executive Director (s).

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trustprovides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

  • Develop and maintain an effective filing system and bring forward system ensuring that the director(s) is fully briefed on any issues in a timely manner and are aware of report
  • Develop and review administrative systems within the directorate to ensure they remain effective and
  • To update and maintain personnel files, including completion of personnel and payroll
  • To record and monitor annual leave, sick leave and study leave of staff, maintaining electronic records, and complete monthly turnround
  • To check timesheets of staff before countersignature by Executive
  • To undertake the typing of advertisements and liaise with Human Resources regarding copy.
