Manufacturing Detail Fitter

This role will give you the chance to play a key role on ground-breaking and high-profile defence projects with values in the hundreds of millions.

You'll be part of an industry-leading team, working with Marshall and other major defence stakeholders and Primes.


As our Detail Fitter, you will be manufacturing sheet metal fabricated components and sub-assemblies to engineering data and in accordance with internal and external OEM quality requirements.

These will generally be low quantity production quantities, one off components including prototype manufacture.

  • Assembly experience essential, preferably in Aerospace
  • Bench work subassemblies, working with small to medium sized precision components.
  • Assembly of components using specialised fasteners, blind and solid rivets, hilocks, anchor nuts etc
  • Manual drilling, reaming & countersinking using handheld and air powered tools.
  • Bonding/sealing using aerospace sealants and adhesives.
  • Torque tightened bolts and nuts.
  • Electrical Bonding and checks
  • Assemble of prototype components in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineers
  • Use of jigs and fixture
  • Fabrication of sheet metal components i.e., folding, hand forming, shrinking/stretching would be an advantage but training can be provided.
  • Work to Marshall & OEM engineering data and in some instances 3D models
  • Working to a schedule of work to meet ontime delivery and to the required quality requirements.
  • Comply with all quality and HSE policies and procedures.
