Job Specification

  • Managing rent and utility collections for a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Managing accounts relationships with variety of Tenants.
  • Reconciling rent collections to accounts software.
  • Input financial terms of Tenancy Agreements into credit control system accurately.
  • Sending of invoices, statements, and payment reminders to Tenants.
  • Sales ledger administration and reporting on cash collection.
  • Administration and filing of Tenancy documents.
  • Administering Direct Debit collections with Tenant.
  • Liase with management team on property repairs, maintenance, nonpayments.

Skills and aptitudes

  • Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills to chase payment from diverse array of clients.
  • Competent on Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of debt collection and basic accounting software. (QuickBooks etc).
  • Well organised individual for Payment collection deadlines and general document management.
  • Ability to handle/converse with problematic clients in a diplomatic and effective manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand Sales ledger in detail
  • Strong desire to learn.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Credit controller preferably within a property business, however this is not entirely essential.
  • Basic understanding of a residential and commercial lease agreement. (Rent excl/plus VAT, Term Dates, Rent reviews, Break Clauses, Rent Free Periods, Insurance charge, Service Charges and Utilities charges).
