Key Responsibilities- Debt Collection: Follow up on overdue invoices and payments, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Customer Accounts: Analyze customer accounts to identify overdue payments and discrepancies.
- Communication: Liaise with customers to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans if necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment statuses, and credit control activities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts and credit control activities for management.
- Legal Proceedings: Initiate legal proceedings if necessary to recover outstanding debts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and finance teams to ensure credit limits are adhered to and to resolve any credit-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of previous experience in credit control or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Self-propelled, structured, doer with high level of accuracy and high attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, listening, adapting message to different stakeholders, showing empathy and firmness.
- Ability to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes effectively.
- Analytical, questioning mind, proactive and creative problem solver.
