  • We are collaborating with a SEND school in Henbury searching to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at their primary site in Henbury, Bristol.
  • The school achieved a 'good' rating in their most recent Ofsted evaluation, boasting a dedicated team of staff, governors, and parents/carers who take pride in supporting the 80 children under their care. This primary school caters to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. These pupils may face challenges with their emotional and social development, impacting their ability to build and maintain healthy relationships.
  • Difficulties might manifest through withdrawal, isolation, challenging behavior, or other manifestations of SEMH like mood and conduct problems, self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders, or medically unexplained physical symptoms. Some pupils may also have known disorders such as attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), attachment disorder, or anxiety disorders.
  • You will work with individual children and groups, and occasionally lead the class in the absence of the teacher. Candidates should bring energy, confidence, and enthusiasm coupled with a dedication to inclusivity. We offer a structured induction within a supportive LSA and teaching team. While familiarity with working in special needs environments is preferred, it is not mandatory. This presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a school undergoing rapid growth.

This is a permanent HLTA position. The role entails 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8.45 am to 3.45 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. You will work during term time only, covering 39 weeks including inset days.

Note: Visa sponsorship is unavailable for this role due to not meeting the necessary criteria.

Start Date: Immediate start based on notice period and DBS clearance or September 2024.

All stated pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary role, with the possibility of permanency in the future.
