About the role:


The role will be accountable for the successful development & evolution of a coherent product offering across the group and of tactics & strategies to enable business units to use this offering to deliver maximum value.


They will use IT expertise, bio-pharma industry trends and in-depth understanding of AZ business priorities to lead to develop strategic relationships at the highest levels, identifying ways for IT to partner achieving and exceeding business objectives.

This role will lead the strategy & approach for coherent and consistent use of tools, platforms and products to create maximum value and adoption.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure adoption of an industryleading product offering encompassing all areas of Commercial IT
  • Develop a strategic IT relationship with senior leaders across all relevant business units, developing a deep understanding of the business strategies, priorities and challenges, ensuring that IT investment is aligned to business objectives.
  • Establish & maintain strong relationships with external partners to ensure full visibility of relevant trends & practices and develop strategies to collaborate to deliver value for AstraZeneca. Develop & maintain a wide external network including peers, providers and innovators, leverage this network to improve the strategy & roadmap for access & value generation in this field and establish AZ as a global inspiring leader in the space.
  • Partner with capability leaders to ensure cohesion across the whole commercial IT offer. Work with other relevant IT Teams to ensure that all IT services used by the Function meet the agreed performance outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives as required.
  • Gain broad dedication to IT across initiatives from senior leaders across all relevant business units, using specialist knowledge identify relevance of established or new IT services
  • Proactively find opportunities through internal and external networks, for IT to deliver innovative solutions to customer issues/challenges and situations where groundbreaking technological innovations can be deployed.
  • Lead IT functional/capability governance including steering groups and advisory boards for all relevant initiatives.
  • Lead Value & Access team providing development, mentor and line management for business & capability partners.
  • Coown the strategic IT relationship with senior business leaders, developing a deep understanding of the business approach, priorities and challenges, ensuring that IT investment is aligned to business objectives.
  • Ensure the wider IT strategy is clearly communicated and understood by executive teams
  • Proactively lead demand with the business, negotiating expectations to ensure alignment with IT strategy, architecture and delivery capacity
  • Support business leadership commitment to IT initiatives, using specialist knowledge identify relevance of established or new IT services
