About the Company:
The art gallery in London is known for its vibrant and diverse collection, showcasing both established and emerging artists.
Job Title: Gallery Manager
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the gallery to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with show installations and deinstallations.
- Organize private views and events at the gallery.
- Coordinate with external suppliers for exhibitions.
- Liaise with accountants for financial compliance.
- Train gallery staff as needed.
- Develop and nurture relationships with clients, collectors, and artists, attending and assisting at fairs.
- Manage and update the artwork database, carrying out gallery inventory checks.
- Support post-sale and fair logistics.
- Prepare consignment, exclusivity, and loan agreements.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in gallery management or coordination is essential for this role.
- Experience in art logistics and shipping is also a key requirement.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, effective communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to handle physical tasks related to exhibition setup.
- Attention to detail, financial acumen, and a genuine passion for contemporary art and design.
- Proficiency in Excel and database management.
