This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days office based.

Reporting to the General Counsel you will be part of the legal team responsible for the management of commercial and corporate legal affairs of Sunbelt Rentals. You will support the business in a wide range of legal matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts (including but not limited to B2B customer and supplier agreements, tender documentation, data processing agreements, NDAs and technology agreements), advising on key areas of risk and compliance within the business and providing legal support to other functions within the business including HR, Procurement, Data Protection, Marketing, Property and Information Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a legal team which undertakes a broad range of work.

To succeed as a Senior Legal Counsel you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours:

Advise stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters however you will be particularly focussed on the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts. Assist the General Counsel in Implementing and continuously improving ways of working, legal templates, processes, workflows, best practices and know-how. Provide training and support to more junior members of the Legal Team. Become a trusted business partner by building strong relationships with colleagues across different business areas to encourage early engagement with the Legal team, develop a good understanding of key business priorities and to mitigate legal risk. Develop knowledge and understanding of the business to help identify any potential risks and work with the relevant parties to shape solutions that meet requirements. Provide training and guidance to other areas of the business on legal matters, promoting a culture of legal awareness and compliance.
