What you'll be responsible for:

  • Assist with prioritising and ensuring clinical investigations are acted upon. The post holder must ensure urgent matters, for example urgent referrals are escalated as appropriate.
  • Assist with and bring to the clinical team's attention results of investigations from patients/deal with appropriately in a timely manner i.e., ensuring appropriate results are stored appropriately in patient records.
  • Assist with the typing of medical correspondence using copy, audio tapes and relevant IT systems to a high and accurate standard. This may include clinic letters, medicolegal reports and other administrative work.
  • Assist with the receipt of referral letters with timely input onto the computerised IT Systems within standard operating procedures.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Audio typing skills
  • Previous NHS experience
  • RSA Typing level 2 (required)
