Vacancy Description


The Commissioning and Procurement Service has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to support the delivery of the Council's Procurement Strategy.

This role is fixed term (funding limited project) until 30/09/2024.

This will involve working alongside the Category Manager - Communities & Wellbeing to deliver tenders across a wide-ranging service.

The post holders will be expected to work closely with relevant service areas to design procurement strategies, seek appropriate governance and then deliver the required outcomes through a tendered solution (where appropriate).


Working closely with the Category Manager, the post holders will gain exposure to a variety of newly identified tenders and will have significant opportunity to drive efficiencies for the Council.

This role is critical in the delivery of the Councils Procurement Strategy.


The post holder will need to have experience of delivering a range of procurements (spot purchase through to OJEU tenders) in a public sector environment and ideally working towards a suitable qualification from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.


This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
