We are looking for a Youth Mentor to deliver a holistic support service working independently and as part of a team to ensure young people experience high-quality and engaging sessions.

Working to deliver a 16-week mentoring programme to support young people with the various challenges that they face.

This will involve assessing the needs of young people, developing support plans, and tailoring each session to cater to their specific needs, with their goals in mind.

Creating a safe environment and providing support to young people that allows participants to realise their potential, while always working to Fight for Peace's values, principles and behaviours.


The Role


To provide dedicated mentoring/support work to young people who are at an increased risk of offending, experiencing poor mental health, being excluded from school or facing other challenging situations in their lives.

To deliver a holistic support service working independently or as part of a team to ensure young people experience high-quality and engaging sessions.

Working to deliver a 16-week mentoring programme to support young people with the various challenges that they face. Therefore, experience working in a youth work setting is essential.

Other elements of the role can include social and family support, housing support, supporting young people's engagement with services, and helping them to access education, training and employment options.


You will:

  • Engage and build respectful, honest and supportive relationships with young people and their families including those who may previously have had little contact with services and have multiple support needs.
  • Deliver holistic traumainformed mentoring that works directly with young people and their families.
  • Hold and maintain an active caseload of 6 to 8 young people with higher support needs for 1to1 support for a duration of 16week cycles.
  • Ensure young people receive a highquality service to help them overcome barriers that they may be facing working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including but not limited to Youth Offending Service, The Police, local schools, social services, and mental health teams ensuring joint working and building referral pathways into the organisation.
