The Compliance Visits and Inspections team handles some of the Charity Commission's most high-profile, high-risk, and complex casework, particularly related to the abuse of the charity sector for terrorist and extremist purposes.

Your role involves providing crucial administrative support for the team's operational casework, including statutory inquiries.

You will also analyse evidence, draft legal documents (such as Orders and Directions), organise and attend on-site meetings with charities, and manage appropriate casework.


While the primary focus is on support and casework, your role extends to assisting (as needed) senior managers in achieving the team's objectives.


Job description:

Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the team in relation to all aspects of operational casework.
  • Gathering and analysing evidence/information/intelligence (including opensource material) to assist case enquiries.
  • Managing appropriate casework and escalating matters where required.
  • Drafting of certain legal documents in relation to operational casework.
  • Assist in developing policy and guidance where it relates to the team's work.
  • Provide general support to the work of the team as needed, for example, carrying out research, preparing briefings, and producing presentation materials. You will also organise team meetings, training events, and away days.
