Contractor Controller - Compliance (6 month fixed term contract)

Role Purpose:

To ensure that:

All contractors on site are booked in advance

Have necessary safety measures in place

Are escorted as required

Receive the full contractor safety briefing

Are registered on site

Are working in the appropriate areas

Responsibility for all Contractor Control Activity remains with the host.

This role is to enable the required safety and compliance checks across Contractor Control Activity by:

Undertaking a range of contractor controller duties across the business

Always presenting a positive image of QinetiQ

Ensuring that processes and procedures are continuously followed

The list of accountabilities details tasks which the role holder may be required to undertake. This list is not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to undertake other related tasks appropriate to their level of seniority

Key Accountabilities

Ensure all contractors on site are booked in advance via the Contractor Processing Form, have necessary safety measures in place, are escorted as required, receive the full contractor safety briefing, are registered on site and are working in the appropriate areas

Liaise with hosts of contractors to ensure all requirements are understood and perform compliance checks against them

Ensure all contractors are handed over to the host and escort where appropriate

Ensure all required documentation is in place such as RAMS, Risk Assessments, SSOW

Deliver the Contractor Control safety briefing for all BCE contractors

Demonstrate understanding of the principles of Contractor Control

Uphold the site security requirements in relation to contractors as the first line of defence for security compliance

Identify issues within own remit and use standard practice to resolve


Ensure a prompt and polite service for all contractors and visitors whist maintaining site access requirements and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Responsible for assuring HoS that all contractors on site are known and have been cleared to work

Outputs

Perform daily checks to ensure contractors are booked onto site in advance with all required detail provided.

Compile a daily list of authorised contractors and notify the sponsors

Escort contractors to the Contractor Control area on site

Ensure that escorted contractors await collection by the escorts in the reception area

Maintain a range of records, entering, collating and organising data using standard methods to assist with data analysis.

Deliver the Contractor Control safety briefing for all BCE contractors

Provide reception service and assistance to all visiting contractors

Liaise effectively with visitor hosts and escorts.

Provide holiday/sickness cover for other members of Business Support team as required across the site operations function.

Provide resilience cover for reception duties

Provide additional support to HoS and The BCE Site Operations Function as required

Keep up to date with procedures for both Contractor Control and Main Reception

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

Ability to understand and uphold security access requirements across all stakeholders

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Working understanding of contractor control activity

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook

Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task

An excellent team player

Attention to detail

Willingness to learn new skills and processes

A commitment to continuous improvement both personal and process

Commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Able to deal with challenging stakeholders in a face to face environment.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

Experience in a customer facing role, contractor control or reception environment

Experience in Contractor control activity

Demonstrable business administration experience equivalent to NVQ Level 3

Desirable

Business admin or customer service qualification to NVQ Level 3

Security clearance a distinct advantage
