Job Role:

Are you looking for a varied role in a family run business?

We have a vacancy for a maintenance person to assist in the operation of a busy family run holiday park. During the closed season, the job will mainly include aspects of refurbishment and re-decoration. This may include projects like fitting new kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and windows. Work will also include painting interior and exterior walls and woodwork.

During the open season, the job consists of responding to any customer maintenance queries and repairs will include a wide range of trades skills, however most would be like those encountered in your home.

Other tasks include day-to-day operations, such as safety checks and assisting the housekeeping team in accommodation and toilet block cleans and linen delivery / pick up. Gardening and groundworks during the spring and summer including driving a ride on mower, strimming, rebuilding dry stone walls and a variety of jobs to maintain the park grounds.

The type of maintenance work on a holiday park is very varied and as part of a small team of experienced maintenance staff we require a flexible, confident, and friendly communicator to be part of our family.

All applications will be treated in confidence and an up-to-date DBS check will also be required. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Essential Qualities:

Experience in basic carpentry.

Experience in painting & decorating.

Experience in basic plumbing.

Proven experience in building services, maintenance, or construction industry.

Proven experience working safely within Health & Safety guidelines.

Self-motivated, with ability to work under your own initiative with excellent time management.

Ability to work as part of a small team or on your own, with accuracy and attention to detail always.

Ability to complete routine paperwork as required.

Availability to work weekends (usually April-October).

Must have good customer communication skills and be confident in dealing with customers.

Full UK driving licence.

Desired Qualities:

Experience in grounds maintenance using a ride-on mower and strimmers.

Experience in roofing, plastering, and tiling.

Relevant Health & Safety / COSHH / First Aid at Work qualification.

A relevant domestic electrical qualification.

A relevant garden machinery maintenance qualification.
