Job Title - Clinical Coder / Administrator

Accountable to - Practice Managers

Hours per week - 20


Talbot Medical Centre is looking to recruit an experienced 20-hour clinical coder / administrator who can work well within a friendly, fun, caring team and play their part to ensuring we meet the needs of the patients.


Responsible To:
The Practice Managers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clinical Coding
  • Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, accurately read coding with attention to QOF and completing any actions required
  • Process Subject Access requests requests of patients records from patients/solicitors
  • GDPR Compliant
  • To work within the admin team and effectively manage your own time, workload and resources
  • Integrate with other members of the practice and wider teams both clinical and nonclinical.
  • Forwarding correspondence/tasks to the appropriate clinician
  • Correction of any anomalies in patient records
  • Ensuring computerised records are accurate and up to date
  • Summarising patients notes when registering with the practice
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate records.
  • To carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by the Practice Manager and/or Partners.
  • Participate in annual appraisal

Health & Safety

  • Report any equipment or building faults to the Practice Manager
  • Ensure on a daily basis, the compliance with legislation relating to health and safety at work.
  • To open and close the building if appropriate according to the surgery security policy.

  • Always maintain strict confidentiality as directed by the practice policy

Housekeeping/Other Tasks

  • Ensure working areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure the reception office is kept tidy and professional

  • To carry out any other duties as required by the doctors or Practice Manager.

Qualifications
Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills and English - essential

Experience
Experience of working in a health care setting - Essential

Experience of working within multidisciplinary team - Desirable

Primary Care experience - Desirable

Clinical Coding Experience - Essential

Skills
Good written communication skills - Essential

Excellent IT skills (generic) - Essential

Ability to prioritise, delegate and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Essential

EMIS or other user medical software user skills - Essential

Ability to work within a motivational team - Essential
