We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to support our IP team on a temporary basis.

The role is full time and office based at our office in Birmingham or Sheffield.


You must be available to start immediately and flexible as the contract could be anything from 1-3 months with the possibility to extend.

We aspire to disrupt the model for which legal services are provided to businesses. The firm's innovative approach to delivering highly tailored and accessible legal advice is considered genuinely different to the establishment.

Harper James was founded in 2014 and continues to grow at c40%+ year on year. This financial year, more than 120 people will support more than 2,500 businesses and our turnover will exceed £13m. We expect to double in size over the next 3 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support our team of expert lawyers on a varied IP workload.
  • Be willing to switch between disputes/court work and commercial transaction work.
  • Be flexible able to switch from the thrilling to the day to day and back again
- an enthusiastic law graduate looking to get experience of working within a fast paced legal environment.

  • You you will need to be proactive, have excellent academics with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and a detail orientated approach to your day to day work.
  • You must be based in Birmingham or Sheffield or within a commutable distance of either office.
