About this role:
The Buying specialist plays a vital part in helping our business achieve success and helping to ensure that we meet our critical metrics.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
- Managing the end to end sourcing process from a design on paper to delivery into a warehouse.
- Managing sourcing cycles & engaging stakeholders.
- Critical path management, short and long term planning.
- Make commercial decisions for new buys, rebuys or modified rebuys.
- Innovating, designing and developing the product ranges.
- Working closely with logistics and merchandising.
- Managing product testing and compliance.
- Managing suppliers contractual agreements and negotiations.
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with JET's policies.
- Work closely with the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies.
- Contribute to JET's Global CSR policy and ensure sustainability is managed.
- Manage cost models, pricing indexes and best suited incoterms.
What will you bring to the table?
- 2+ years of independent buying & category management experience
- Experienced in sourcing and designing own brand products with suppliers.
- Experienced in working with factories and the far east.
- Experience analysing data with great attention to detail.
- Able to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain, contractual agreements & incoterms.
- Previous experience working in retail buying is a plus.
- CIPS preferred though not crucial.
- Degree preferred though not crucial.
- Able to work independently and drive the category forward.
- A selfstarter with a proactive, wellorganised approach to your work.
