Our client, a well-respected European Solar Developer, is looking for a Legal Counsel qualified in Germany to support their German business in developing and constructing large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.

About the Position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively provide legal support in solar project development and corporate business
  • Act as the main point of contact for all solar PV project legal matters in Germany
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements with third-party contractors
  • Manage legal processes for solar PV projects in Germany
  • Ensure high standards of legal support in project construction, including drafting and finalizing key project agreements
  • Participate in various project stages such as SPV incorporation, land agreements, PPAs, and project financing
  • Stay updated on legislative changes affecting project development
  • Oversee and coordinate external legal counsel
Requirements:
  • Experienced legal specialist focused on ensuring legal compliance throughout business growth
  • 5-10 years experience as a construction lawyer, particularly in renewable energy
  • Preferably a qualified lawyer in Germany, open to considering other jurisdictions
  • Comprehensive understanding of project aspects including development, technical, offtake, O&M, and project finance
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills
  • Proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within or outside Germany
