Technical Assessor North West £Attractive

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Technical Assessor to join a leading bespoke waste business based in the North West.

This is a pivotal role that will require you to utilise your chemistry knowledge to assess incoming waste streams based on information provided by the customer.


You will ensure that the waste is classified correctly and identify correct cost and route of disposal and to be able to effectively manage multiple projects across the UK.


This is a fast-moving business and you will need to have the ability to manage projects successfully as well as the day to day.

You will; Review and assess waste streams; Permit conditions and best practice; Accurate and concise assessments of waste with the ability to be able to consult and advise confidently; Understand site processing capabilities to enable efficient and cost effective routing of waste; Ensure compliance with all licences, permits and waste acceptance procedures; Communicate effectively with customers and teams within the business by email and phone to confirm quotations, scheduling, and address non-conformances; Support Classification Labelling and Packaging tasks; Advise on transport, labelling & consignment note requirements; Follow up sales leads and seek out new opportunities; Follow Company procedures to ensure full audit trail is available with accurate paperwork; You must have the ability to multiple projects effectively;


This role requires some travel across the UK - a full driver's license is required; Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company.

In order to be considered you must have the following; Degree in Chemistry or related subject (minimum HNC); Minimum of 5 years' experience within a similar role; Working knowledge of a Hazardous Waste Transfer Station and/or Transport operations; Excellent Commercial acumen; Experience in the waste industry, both hazardous and non-hazardous is essential; Strong project management skills; Excellent computer skills with the ability to be able to work on own initiative; Self-motivated and confident in dealing with people; Analytical thinker with outstanding attention to detail; Ability to work to strict deadlines; Strong problem-solving; Experience with classified waste is essential; ADR license is desirable; Experience of waste legislation: consignment notes, EWC codes, permit is essential.
