Aseptic Compounding Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Aseptic Services Specialist to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and supervise the preparation of sterile medicinal products made aseptically for patients and external customers.
- Train and assess technical staff to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Carry out aseptic preparation of sterile medicinal products, including Cytotoxic Chemotherapy.
- Dispense and check dispensed prescriptions and requisitions in the dispensary.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with appropriate underpinning knowledge, plus knowledge and equivalent experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment to degree level.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Leeds University APDM course or willingness to attend.
- NW Region Primary Level Training for Aseptic Personnel.
- NVQ assessor.
- 2 years' experience of working within hospital pharmacy in a Good Manufacturing Practice GMP environment.
- Significant experience of aseptic compounding.
- Significant work experience that requires understanding and adherence to set standard Operating work policies and procedures.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds.
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
