The role in short
The Direct Ship Administrator is responsible for the delivery of the company's direct ship order fulfillment process. This involves obtaining timely and accurate order confirmations as well as expediting deliveries. The role involves updating internal systems with accurate delivery information to drive outbound communication to customers.


The position forms the main interface between the Commercial and Customer Services department, as well as the company's direct ship customer base.

Onto the nitty gritty

  • Chasing suppliers to ensure direct ship orders are confirmed accurately and efficiently
  • Processing discrepancies on direct ship order confirmations to protect the business commercially
  • Updating ERP systems with timely and accurate direct ship delivery dates for the benefit of customers
  • Obtaining confirmation that orders have shipped in line with committed delivery dates
  • Harvesting courier tracking information and updating systems with relevant data
  • Identifying supplier performance gaps centring on direct ship products and escalating these by exception
  • Communicating delivery delays to category owners and finding ways to resolve problems.
