Lead Systems Engineer - Exciting Opportunity at JLR

We're revolutionizing our vehicles and redefining the concept of a vehicle in a world of automation, connectivity, electrification, and the shared economy. At JLR, we are all about fresh ideas, cutting-edge technology, and innovative approaches to transportation. Join a team of forward-thinkers who are shaping the future of mobility.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We are on the lookout for a talented Lead Systems Engineer to take a key role in advancing our Body Systems and Software Domain. In this domain, the HMI Interface team is expanding its responsibilities within a new electrical architecture platform for upcoming JLR car releases.

As a Lead System Engineer, you will be part of a diverse systems engineering team tasked with defining the structure and behavior of HMI functions for present and future vehicle designs. Your responsibilities will include supporting the creation and upkeep of architectures in model-based engineering tools like Catia Magic Systems, as well as managing systems engineering requirements in the Traceable Requirements Management system (TRM), ensuring that all deliverables meet the necessary quality standards.

This role will be crucial in overseeing the development of a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) cockpit controller module, a key component of our future strategy. This expansion has created a need to strengthen our existing systems engineering and architecture capabilities to specify and assist in the end-to-end in-house software development for HMI features and products.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural model definition and delivery for assigned products, focusing on efficiency, safety, cybersecurity, scalability, performance, and availability
  • Ensure timely and high-quality definition and review of system requirements for the assigned features/capabilities
  • Conduct thorough analyses from a Failure Mode, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity perspective for the assigned product/system
  • Take ownership of delivering the system architecture/software being developed to meet business requirements on time, with quality, and within budget
  • Lead the creation, peer reviews, releases, or cascades of System Engineering Artifacts for the subsystems/systems/features

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Proven experience in system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modeling, systems integration, and system assessment
  • Advanced proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools and techniques, including SysML/UML, preferably Catia Magic System of Systems Architect or similar
  • Experience in developing technical requirements specifications and test plans
  • Broad knowledge of various vehicle electrical systems and architectures
  • Strong skills in requirements definition and management tools, particularly the Traceable Requirements Management (TRM) system

WHY JOIN US?

Bring your expertise to the forefront of premium innovation at JLR. Here, you can expand your career horizons with a top-tier team, enjoy perks like a discounted car purchase and lease program, access to a competitive pension plan, and performance-related bonuses. All these benefits and more make JLR the ideal place to advance your professional journey.

This role may offer a hybrid working setup, allowing you to balance your time between home and office work. At JLR, we embrace hybrid working as an optional arrangement that gives employees more flexibility in how, when, and where they work, if suitable for their role. For further details, discuss with the Hiring Manager during the interview process.

JLR is dedicated to providing equal opportunities to all candidates.
